I hope you enjoyed climbing around on the rocks.
In Central Oregon those rocks can get darn hot, so I thought you might want to cool down.

snowmelt stream Cascade Mtns
Have a splash in this ice cold snow melt and you’ll feel great! there’s nothing more refreshing after a long hike.

Sure it’s going to be cold, even in july these snow fed streams can be cold enough to take your breath away.

Now just toss your clothes there on the bank and get wet. What do you mean you’re bashful? Theres no one around for miles!

See? no one around.
Well suit yourself. I’m getting in. Keep your clothes on if you’re gonna get all modest. You’ll be dry in no time once you get out of the water.

Now don’t be a sissy just sticking your toes in. Jump right in!You’ll get used to it…. Brrr.

Refreshing? Yes. Get used to it? Never.

Your pictures are just endlessly breathtaking! It is even warm in Minnesota today, or maybe I am just warm because I am cleaning. Nevertheless, I am refreshed and charmed by your photos once again!!!

Don,
Due to having an exceptional cool late autumn here, I only thinking of warming up rather than cooling off!

Cool pictures… With fun and engaging writing. I’m not sure about the getting “used to it” part though.
All the best,

It’s too cold and I can’t swim! Call me a sissy if you like but there’s no way I’m jumping in there! Great pictures – great post.
Man, I would love to have been in that waterfall after a hot August day.

Oh Don, thank you! It is in the 90s here in Las Vegas and I have been sweltering. Seeing those beautiful cool refreshing images of Central Oregon is reviving, indeed.

So refreshing to look at pictures of Central Oregon – considering I just came in from the 90+ typical summer day here in Houston…

We went camping in the eastern Sierras when I was a kid. After a couple of days fishing and hiking the three of us needed a bath. Mother would have us get into one of those cold, snow-melt lakes or streams and wash off. The best part was getting out and sitting on a hot rock to warm up. It was delicious.

Nice pictures. Reminds me of a trip my wife and I took to the Grand Canyon. We went on a raft ride on the calm part of the Colorado that leaves Glen Canyon Dam and leads to the canyon. Although it had to have been over 100 degrees, the water was icy cold!
